“The doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.”

Our Mission.

Our mission at Legacy Chiropractic is to provide patient-centered care -- making decisions that serve you best, so you can live well and live out your legacy!

Our Method.

At Legacy Chiropractic, we use a diversified, drop piece or activator technique along with muscle work called trigger point therapy. We believe in the importance of treating muscles and their effect on subluxation and pain syndromes.

How it works: By applying pressure to tender muscle tissue, trigger point therapy interrupts the neural signals that cause both the trigger point and the pain. The purpose of this technique is to reeducate the muscles into pain-free habits. As a result, the swelling and stiffness of neuromuscular pain is reduced, range of motion is increased, and flexibility and coordination are improved. The therapy can also relieve tension, improve circulation, and make the chiropractic adjustment go smoother and hold better.

How it started: Trigger point therapy was developed by Dr. Janet Travell in the United States in the 1940s. Through her work and events in her personal life, Travell advanced the theory that pain experienced in one part of the body is actually caused by an injury or dysfunction in another part of the body. Ultimately, she identified the body's trigger points and how pain radiates to the rest of the body. Travell's work came to national attention when she treated President John F. Kennedy for his back pain, and is a technique still used to this day.

Our Method is tailored to your age and condition. Our adjusting table has a comfortable drop piece to assist with certain types of low back adjustments. We can also use an instrument known as an activator, which can deliver a more gentle, non-force adjustment. If you’ve been adjusted before and prefer a certain method, please let us know.

Children & Chiropractic.

Infants and children can especially benefit from being a chiropractic patient. Many common childhood problems can be addressed with chiropractic care so that you don’t have to resort to medications or other risky options. We see children whose parents are seeking natural relief for a variety of problems, such as colic, digestion issues, ADHD, allergies, reflux and ear infections.

There’s no need to be nervous about bringing your children in. Children receive a form of chiropractic care that’s much different from that for adults. We’ll explain each step of the way what we’ll do before starting and use only the gentlest touch on our younger patients. In fact, it’s about the same amount of pressure that’s required to check the ripeness of a tomato.
